This Citronella Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves and stems of the Cymbopogon species of plants, particularly Cymbopogon nardus. Renowned for its natural insect-repelling properties, this oil has been used as a bio-pesticide with a non-toxic mode of action since 1948 in the USA. The primary producers of this exquisite oil are Indonesia and China, collectively accounting for approximately 40% of the world’s citronella essential oil.
